Houndstooth

I had a bit of time to paint a character i've been working on for a new short story. I'd like to adapt it into a new film or perhaps a small comic when i'm confident with the concept.
edit: Somewhere between photoshop and blogger my image seems to be losing its saturation. Anyone know why that might be? It's saved at maximum quality, but the colors don't look like the original .psd, I'm not sure why that is..

wicked. Glad to see your still thinking up stories thats very inspiring. For a moment i was afraid the grads wuolda lost themselves to the industry and not keep the artistry alive with coninuing their creativity and talent tht got them where a lot of them are.
Yeah man, i've heard stories about people kind of giving up on their own work when they finish a grad film. It's definitely more of a challenge for me to keep working on this sort of thing now than it was a year ago, but hopefully I can make something of it.
Awesome piece Sam! Love to hear/see more about the concept.
well hhhmmm. sylvain marc did that "soup" short a while back. he did it in about a month but i mean it was more character driven and his layouts were simple and almost theatre stage like in their flatness. really nice stuff. You can do it no problem. (well u know what i mean. cant wait to see more)
hah, i wish i could do art like his "no problem"! Seriously though, I don't want to be pessimistic. You're right. I'm trying to be mindful of time and technical limitations so that I'm not getting stuck on that sort of thing, leaving me free to focus on what's important - making an interesting story.
Definitely appreciate the words of encouragement though, Myke and Andre. I'll try to post updates on it as I progress. Hope things are going well for both of you guys.
This is really great, Sam. Beautiful colors, design. I'd love to see it as a book or something too. This is my fave thing I've seen you do.
I love this little guy, and the houndstooth background is super chic. I still think he looks like Josiah, butI can't quite figure out why...
wow i really like the colouring, the texture are cool. very funky
Nice character!
Love the face and the red little cute fingers :-)
hey
I stumbled onto your blog and noticed your edit about a difference between color in your psd file vs your blog, I had a similar problem. If you haven't already solved it, try messing with the "proof setup" under "view" I changed mine from working CMYK to monitor RGB
