Mausoleah!

More portfolio work, except this one is a bit more recent...

Lots of inspiration from shows like clone high and 6teen on this one.. and some advice from my friend Jeff (linked on the right-->) behind this design.

Initially it was just for the sake of drawing a zombie, but i was sort of sad to see her get finished. Maybe i'll bring her back in a short; i'd like to animate her.

@ 5 months

I had a chance to spend some time in the UofT medical labs a little while back... This was one of the paintings that resulted.

While I was painting Rabbits...

While going through old artwork to make an updated portfolio i've found a bunch of work I haven't seen in a while... looking at them fresh helps to provide me a more objective perspective than when they were created. Some i'm looking at fondly.. others, uh, not so much.

This one however, I was happy with at the time, and i'm still happy with now. It's from a project I worked on over the summer, and its copyright belongs to Universal Canada...

Life Drawing

Saw some beautiful life drawing posted by James Jean on his blog and couldn't help but post some of my own. These from a little while back, 5 minutes each. Studies of light and shadow, used to express volume...

When i get an official gallery up and working i'll post a wider selection of life drawing...

Pixel Process

My last weekend before vacation ends, so I took some time for a bit of explorational work. If anyone has tips on photographing a canvas with minimal glare and good lighting, let me know. I'd definitely like to repost a better quality image.

Oil on canvas.. no ref, except for the ear. Definitely some inspiration from a Wesley Burt painting I saw a while back, although i dont think it's reflected in my style too much.

Prom Night @ Dreamylabs...

Playing around with some watercolors in the oh six. The colors are a pinch off, but they're close.

Big Gears

Some recent work.

Color concept for a film i'm working on with a few friends at school. Pastels on matte board... I've got some more of these, hopefully I'll get them posted in the near future.

First post.

Just testing everything out, making sure images are posting correctly, etc. Hopfully the rest of dreamylabs.com will be working before the end of the week.

Illustration inspired by the Mars Volta drawn not too long after their first album release. I'm guessing early 2004.
